Who We Are

The J29 Coalition is a network of pastors, ministry leaders, coaches, content contributors, cohort participants, and alumni united by a shared vision of an Evangelical Church made new.

Together, we are helping one another lead our churches into the formative practices that cultivate kingdom-shaped political engagement.

In a cultural moment when political identities, media ecosystems, and competing allegiances are powerfully shaping our imaginations, we are discerning how to build communities shaped by the way of Jesus for the sake of our neighbors, our churches, and the common good.

Our Leadership

  • Caleb E. Campbell

    DIRECTOR

    Pastor Campbell graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Arts in Ministry from Phoenix Seminary in 2015 and completed his doctorate at Fuller Theological Seminary in 2026.

    He has served at Desert Springs Bible Church in Phoenix, Arizona, since 2006 and as Lead Pastor since 2015, and is the author of Disarming Leviathan: Loving Your Christian Nationalist Neighbor, a pastoral guide to navigating political division, Christian Nationalism, and faithful discipleship in today's church.

    He serves on the board of United Pastors of Arizona, is the statewide regional director of the Surge Network, and has spoken at events hosted by Acts 29, the African American Christian Clergy Coalition, the Surge Network, Grand Canyon University, Converge Arizona, Young Life, and Phoenix Seminary.

  • Napp Nazworth

    EXECUTIVE SPONSOR

    Napp Nazworth, Ph.D., worked in academia for six years, teaching courses in U.S. government, Congress, and religion and politics. For 8 1/2 years he was a journalist, opinion editor, and politics editor for The Christian Post. His 2006 dissertation from the University of Florida was on the Christian Right.
